Did you know that only 12.5% of African-American children in the Madison Schools can read at grade level and only 14% can do math at grade level? Are you outraged that we, as a community, allow that to continue year after year? We are condemning our children, the next generation, to joblessness and hopelessness.
At-risk kids living in poverty are often too stressed to learn without one-on-one support.
You can make a difference in a child or teen’s life by volunteering as a tutor either in school or in a neighborhood center. You can make a huge impact on a child or teen’s life by helping them learn to read or improve their math skills and to simply bolster their self-confidence.
Please contact us to find out how you can help a child learn how to read!
Please note that all volunteers working with children and teen’s will need to pass a background check.
